Multi - Chromatic Electronic Sorter for removal of defects from whole carrots
The Autosort MC-C range uses a laned vibratory conveyor and chute to singulate and align the carrots for presentation to the cameras. The 4 fast scanning cameras inspect for colour and shape in combination with a rapid sequence of multi coloured lights to obtain “more than colour” information from the product. Often, even very similar colours can be differentiated, and the infra red capability improves detection of soft rot and foreign bodies.
Cameras above and below the product means that the MC-C can efficiently sort the defects showing from only one aspect. Crown defects are identified separately. Size and shape parameters are all user settable.
Human inspectors cannot see all round the product and the diligence is limited. The Autosort MC-C ensures that defects on any side of the product are not missed, giving the assurance of full inspection. By removing colour and shape defects, the quality and value of the finished product is maximised. The customer is rewarded with consistent product. The producer gains by reduced processing costs.
